9/21/11

Today we had a Southern News Network meeting. We were mostly there to pick topics to write our stories on this week, and I chose to write a blurb about the Flu Shots coming on campus next weekend. We got an hour for this meeting.

Later in the day, I went to the Lambda Chi cookout in front of Hollis to take pictures for Interlauchen. I showed up there at 5:00 and ended up leaving at about 6:30.

Interlauchen Meeting (9/12)

Today I attended my first Interlauchen Meeting. We discussed the events coming up this week and I signed up to take photos at the first Convo event this Wednesday. Shanna showed us how to operate the cameras, and also gave us a gist of what Interlauchen was and how it worked. They talked about portraits coming up next Monday and I may be signing up to help out with a time slot on there and they also talked to me about potentially doing some video work for them since I am a Broadcast major.

9/7/2011

Today I went out to the JR Lobby to help Anna get footage for her Media Projects assignment. We were covering the AOPI Tie Dye event. We got there when it started at 4 and filmed plenty of people at the event, getting some interviews as well as B-Roll stuff. She decided that she had enough footage after about an hour of filming and we left at 5:00.

TOTAL HOURS EARNED: 1 Hour

New Hours (8/31, 9/5, & 9/7)

On Wednesday August 31, I attended another Southern News Network meeting. Basically what went on in this meeting was that we were deciding stories for the show this week. We were told that we were to have our stories in by Tuesday, September 6th and I ended up choosing to write a blurb about the upcoming 9/11 concert hosted by the music department. I was told that we would receive one hour for that meeting.

On September 5th, I wrote my blurb for the show and emailed it to Anna. As mentioned before, it was a short ad for the upcoming 9/11 concert, taking place on Sunday (September 11th). I was also told that we would receive an hour for writing these and getting them in on time.

Today, September 7th, I attended the Southern News Network meeting and the basis of the meeting today was that we got a sample script made up of the stories that we submitted this week, and then looked at the equipment and got walked through the basis of how a show would be shot. We didn't actually shoot today, but we did run as if we were shooting. We didn't get stories assigned because we have Convo next week, but we decided we will be meeting a different day next week. I received an hour for attending this meeting as well.
